Backstage Intern Volunteer Program
For each of our full--scale musical productions, CUYT invites back our past performers who are now in high school. We train them to be backstage crew support for our productions.
Benefits of participating as a backstage intern:
1
Each backstage intern is trained to work different crew roles of a professional theater. Moving sets, opening the curtain, making announcements, and ensuring all actors are where they need to be, our interns help create a more professional theater experience for our actors.
2
Especially during our summer camp production, backstage interns are given the opportunity to work with groups of actors on lines, dances, activities, etc. The perfect opportunity for those who are interested in working with children or musical directing.
3
Each backstage intern receives a certified letter of their community service hours at the end of each production. A perfect opportunity to boost your resume for colleges or other career opportunities.
Interested high school--aged students can reach out to curtainsupyouththeatre@gmail.com to express the show they are interested in interning for and what their available hours are.
